In October Helen will be offering the opportunity to participate in two drawing and painting workshops exploring the pregnant body and the mother and child.

Both workshops are suitable for the beginner and experienced alike.

Helen Sargeant has extensive experience of delivering high quality arts workshops in artists studios, galleries, community centres, hospitals, and schools. In addition to this Helen Sargeant has taught life drawing in both further and higher education and is an academic who has taught and lectured Visual Arts at The University of Salford.

Exploring the pregnant body through drawing and painting.

This workshop will take place at Arts Mill Gallery, Linden Mill, Linden Road, Hebden Bridge, HX77DP on Saturday 1st October from 10am-4pm.

The day will include a two hour life drawing session working from a Pregnant life model, a short seminar about the history of the Pregnant body in contemporary and historic arts and culture, and time to develop a painting from studies made during the workshop together with the participants “life experiences” of pregnancy.

Cost £40

Price includes the above plus basic materials and light refreshments.

Exploring the relationship between mother and child through drawing and painting.

This workshop will take place at Arts Mill Gallery, Linden Mill, Linden Road, Hebden Bridge, HX77DP on Saturday 8th October from 10am-4pm.

The day will include a two hour life drawing session working from the mother and child, a short seminar about the representation of the mother and child in historical and contemporary art, and time to develop a painting from studies made during the workshop together with the participants “life experiences” of the mother and child relationship.
